This information is particularly critical, especially if you\u2019re an employee who wants to fake the time you took to create a document in front of your boss and your boss quickly checks the metadata to see that it took a few minutes for the job. In the older Microsoft Office 2007, you will have to click the Office orb and then head over to prepare tab and then click Inspect Document. Here, you can click on the Remove All button to remove all the metadata that is associated with the document.<\/p>\n<p>However, do keep in mind that you will not be able to recover the lost data and hence if you want a file with the metadata information intact, you can save the new document with a different name. Still, if you believe that you won\u2019t be needing this revealing information, you can simply save the file as it is, and this time it won\u2019t reveal anything about the document\u2019s history to anybody.<\/p>\n<p><b>Summary:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Microsoft Office stores a lot of information, in the form of metadata, about all the documents you create.
