But it isn’t just the parents who are seeking for stress-busters; off lately even the children are facing some parental problems. So just before you think you have had enough of your parents snubbing, don’t go crazy, and rather follow these tips to deal with your dad.

Bad-tempered dad

Many a times we come across people who have zero-tolerance. These people can be someone’s dad too. Some men just end up being the bad guy in the house, intentionally or sometimes unintentionally. It’s more like they need someone to punch their anger on, and thus they land up in messy situations in the house – yelling, breaking crockery or behaving violently. Whatever may be the problem, the best way to put up with such kind of dads is by acting patiently. The angry dads in the home can become a tough challenge to crack at first but at the same time, the task is not impossible. There will be times when you have loved your dad doing something you thought he would never do and those are the moments you have to cling on. Try thinking of the best image of your dad every time you think he is losing his cool; that will lessen the rising feeling of hatred towards him.

Embarrassing dad

Do you really remember how many times you got embarrassed by your dad in friends or public? Probably not. Dads can sometimes be the excessive love-pouring vase but that doesn’t really give them the liberty to get you red-faced in public. However, in situations like such, don’t start playing the bad sport but rather be witty and humorous to tackle the embarrassment part. Tell him in personal of how uncomfortable you feel when he does something extra-sweet for you, but at the same time make sure you talk to him in a very polite and respectful manner. Don’t start throwing unnecessary tantrums, instead let your father know of how much you love him and what exactly are the things that can possibly annoy you. At the end of the day, he is your father and you don’t want to make a big deal out of it.

Faith-less Dad

No matter how bad you have slogged to stand first in class,or to be in the national basketball team or even be good at home; your father might just not acknowledge that! You try all your luck and efforts to be in his good books but he simply wants more and more out of that. Dealing with such dads becomes a problem after a certain limit and that is when it is the time for dad’s counselling. The problem with such fathers is that they expect their kid to get the best of everything and make them live an independent and respectful life. He just wants you to get better and better which is quite normal for him to think likewise, but the only block created between you and him is the point where he doesn’t credit you. For that, the best remedy is to let your dad know that you do want to make him proud but there should be encouragement from his side too. This can be achieved only by having a good and polite conversation.

Alcoholic dad

There are some fathers who believe in occasional drinking whereas the other kinds are pure alcoholics. The occasional ones are fine as long as they don’t create a scene in parties or social gatherings (that can become the biggest embarrassment). If they do create a scene, try telling your mom about the problem which surely she faces too. Try telling your dad of how the repercussions of such actions. On the other hand, an alcoholic dad needs to get rehabilitation as soon as possible. No matter how hard he has tried to leave drinking, he was too addicted to do so; and this is why he needs to be understood. Drinking is an addiction which is not out of one’s own will, and thus to help your father cope with it, take your moms’ and relatives’ help.

Nagging dad

Whatever you do, your dad might always point you out for doing something incorrect. Nagging is something that almost every dad is up with. It is more of a general problem now that the kids know of what is right and what is not. The best way to get away with this complaining session of your dad is to obey him politely and not get irritated. Make sure you don’t do something he doesn’t really appreciate much. Learn to handle such situation with patience and a smile on your face. Your father just wants you perfect, don’t feel sorry about it.

Recent Articles:

With the uprising teen issues rapidly blowing to the psychologists door every now and then, finding an upset parent with their child becomes quite a primitive catch.
