A young boy whose name was Patrick got flunk in almost each class. The constant failure stuffed his life with self-doubts and fears of all kinds. One day the school principal invited his father and told him that if the boy did not pass his final exams with A grade he would be expelled from school. Patrick\u2019s father came back home and told his mother about that who started crying at once as Patrick was their only son and they had high hopes from him. When Patrick came from school, he saw his mother crying and said, \u201cMom, what happened? What made you cry?\u201d<\/p>\n

His mother did not answer the question.<\/p>

A few minutes later, Patrick looked at his mother and said, \u201cMom, why are you crying?\u201d<\/p>\n

His mother pulled herself together and said, \u201cThe school principal says that you would be expelled from school if you do not get an A on your score card this year. We have already changed so many schools because of your irresponsible behavior.\u201d<\/p>\n

Patrick was sad because his mother was crying because of him. He went a step closer and said, \u201cMom, you don\u2019t worry. I will get an A this year and will not give them a reason to throw me out of school.\u201d<\/p>\n

Patrick didn\u2019t even think twice before uttering up those words though he was not all sure that he would be able to do what he has just said.<\/p>

His mother looked at him with surprise and said, \u201cHow can you even say that? You have never passed a single exam without getting flunk twice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Patrick knew that it would be next to impossible for him but he didn\u2019t want to make his mother cry again. He took her hand in his own hands and said, \u201cMom, you have to trust me this time. I will not let you cry again because of me.\u201d<\/p>\n

His mother had no reason to trust him but she nodded her head when she saw tears in his eyes.<\/p>\n

From that day onwards, Patrick started working harder. He would get up early in the morning and revise his lessons. His teachers were surprised and so were his parents. Months later, when the school authorities declared the result Patrick was not at all sure that he would pass the exam. He had worked hard but had lost faith in his own abilities. He didn\u2019t believe his teacher until he had a good look at his report card. His hard work has finally paid off and he had lived up to the expectations of his adorable parents. His mother was happy and his father was proud.\u00a0 He was an underdog whose strong determination had proved everyone wrong.<\/p>\n

Like Patrick, most of people are not aware of their true strengths and abilities. If you can dream big, you sure can realize your dreams. Have faith in yourself since all those who achieve success in life are ordinary people like you. They just never let their dreams go out of their sight.<\/p>\n
