Julia and Erica were close friends. They would sit together with each other in the class and talk over phone for hours. Both girls would observe their mothers very closely and imitate them as most of the kids do.<\/p>\n

One day when Julia was helping her mother in making dinner, she just thought of something and said, \u201cMom, are you dating someone?\u2019<\/p>\n

Her mom looked at her with surprise. She had a good look at her and said,\u201dNo, honey. What gave you that idea?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNothing, It\u2019s just that I want to know every little thing about you,\u201d she said as she handed over the bowl to her mother.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat am I going to get on my birthday?\u201d Julia asked her mother.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat do you want to have on your birthday, sweetheart?\u201d her mother said as she gave her a kiss on the cheek.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know. I don\u2019t want to have a video game since Erica had it and she doesn\u2019t even like it any more,\u201d Julia said.<\/p>\n

They had their dinner and watched TV for a while. The next day Julia and her mother went to the store to buy the grocery.<\/p>\n

The moment they got into the store Julia saw a grey hair on her mother\u2019s head and asked, \u201cWhat\u2019s your age mom?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOh my goodness, you don\u2019t ask a woman her age,\u201d her mother said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd why is that mom,\u201d Julia asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know, you just don\u2019t ask that, all right,\u201d mother said.<\/p>\n

It was hard to put off Julia and her mother knew that.<\/p>

When they came out the store Julia asked her mom, \u201cHow much do you weigh, mom?<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, that\u2019s another question you don\u2019t ask a woman,\u201d mother answered.<\/p>\n

\u201cMom, sometimes I wonder why you and dad got divorced. It would have been great if all of us could be together again. Why did you guys get divorced?\u201d Julia said as she got into the car.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, that is something that I really don\u2019t want to talk about. Julia, sometimes you really try to get into my head,\u201d her mother said, as she didn\u2019t want to recall the painful memories.<\/p>\n

The next day Julia told her friend Erica about it. Quite interestingly, Erica had an answer to every question. She said, \u201cAlways follow certain rules in life. Rule number one, never ask elders about their secrets and rule number two always follow the rule number one.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou only need to sneak a peek into your mom\u2019s driving license to get an answer to your questions,\u201d Erica explained.<\/p>\n

Julia somehow managed to get her mother\u2019s driving license and got all the information.<\/p>\n

A few days later when Julia was helping her mother in the kitchen, she told her, \u201cMom, I know your age. You are 34 and you weigh 130 pounds.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her mother looked at her with surprise and asked, \u201cAnd what else did you get to know.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAh, you and dad got divorced since you got an F in sex,\u201d Julia said as she left the room.<\/p>\n

Her mother thought for while to understand what Julia has just said and when she got her point she had a big smile on her face.<\/p>\n

Kids are sometimes difficult to understand. They live in their own world and always make efforts to learn the way of grownups around them.<\/p>\n
