The second step is to adjust the pallet to get horizontal slats. Thin boards that are used at the pallet\u2019s surfaces are called slats and thick boards that are used on the middle and edges are called rails. Pallets that have slats on bottom and top provide more wood to work on. Carefully cut alongside the chalk line. Repeat the same process on the right hand side of the rail to the left. Cut across using the chainsaw stepwise, cutting each sequentially.\n\nAfter you have finished cutting it, thump the slat at the center rail. Use a rubber mallet to do so. If it gets difficult cutting it with a mallet then use pry bar. The other purposes for which they can be used are flowerbeds or walkways. Placing the pallets as borders is an easy task. You just need to cut the slats as per the required size. Then, dig up a trench to get a perfect border. Line them up in such a manner that they get aligned in the same height. Then fill the remaining trench so that they hold up straight.\n\nPallets used in this manner look attractive and beautiful.
