An disastrous earthquake can strike any moment.<\/p>\n<p>California is vulnerable to severe earthquakes because of the San Andreas Fault, which being a transform or strike-slip rupture runs from west and southern California enables the movement of the land west of the fault in northwest direction while eastern one moves south westward. However, the San Andreas Fault has earlier triggered disastrous earthquakes, an inkling of times to come.
