The agreement gives the <strong>Utah-based Pioneer International Development<\/strong> a 50-year license for developing eco-tourism in the Conkouati-Douli National Park, which is the most diverse reserve of the central African country.<!--more--><br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nThe 505,000 hectares of Conkouati-Douli &#8211; stretching from deep in the Atlantic Ocean to the inland hills of central African country &#8212; are home to a host of rare and endangered species, which includes leatherback turtles, mandrills, gorillas and also chimpanzees.<\/strong><\/p><div class=\"38520354a5201685ddf480eec688e1a7\" data-index=\"2\" style=\"float: none; margin:10px 0 10px 0; text-align:center;\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\r\n     data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-9477973674766713\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"8885944693\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>A copy of the deal signed was read out by the source to Reuters, stating,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>After the signing of this protocol &#8230; Pioneer will appoint operators to begin the development process under the supervision of the Forestry Ministry.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It was in January, President Denis Sassou-Nguesso&#8217;s government had awarded an oil exploration licence to a subsidiary of France&#8217;s Maurel &amp; Prom within the park! This was contradictory to the park&#8217;s charter.
