But, it is already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.waterconserve.org\/shared\/reader\/welcome.aspx?linkid=73704\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">having its toll<\/a> on the region&#8217;s majestic birds &#8211; the flamingos. This is perhaps the first indication of its nemesis coming down on Earth!<\/p>\n<p>A depressing scene prevailed in the Lake Nakuru in Kenya&#8217;s scenic Rift Valley, with dead flamingos found littering the drying shores, five years ago. <strong>With the region&#8217;s forest been razed out for farming, the flock of millions fell prey to dry seasons with the rain&#8217;s disappearance with the trees.<\/strong><\/p><div class=\"38520354a5201685ddf480eec688e1a7\" data-index=\"2\" style=\"float: none; margin:10px 0 10px 0; text-align:center;\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\r\n     data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-9477973674766713\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"8885944693\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n\n<p><strong>And, the result! The flock that drew thousands of tourists each year died to reduce the number of tourists to 10 000 by 1996.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But, thanks to the efforts of the Nakuru&#8217;s local community for keeping the tourism industry in the region alive, with lots of people from across the world visiting it to have a glance of the majestic birds.<\/p>\n<p>The Nakuru&#8217;s local community has taken up the initiative to <strong>replant a whole forest they had razed, as a desperation measure in times of poverty. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>With this replantation, the flamingos will surely return, and so will the tourists &#8211;
