Be it the ocean or forests, both are capable of locking up carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere, that does not contribute to global warming.<\/p>\n<p><strong>But, with an increase in winds in the Southern Ocean the carbon sinks lose their ability to soak up carbon dioxide.<\/strong> Raising concerns among the scientist-fraternity, the Southern Ocean <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/science\/news\/stories\/2007\/1926751.htm?enviro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has been found<\/a> to be already saturated with carbon dioxide and that too, at least since the 1980s.<\/p><div class=\"38520354a5201685ddf480eec688e1a7\" data-index=\"2\" style=\"float: none;
