This comes in the aftermath of the <strong>Animal Welfare Act in April,<\/strong> by virtue of which people would be held liable for the basic welfare of animals in their care. Any violation of this law would carry <strong>fines of up to \u00a320,000. <\/strong>In recent times, animal welfare activists have lobbied to ensure that the animal community also deserves compassion and proper treatment. They believe that they share the same feelings as we humans do. It is, therefore, mandatory to introduce laws to provide them the respect that we as humans receive.
