Their products are facing problems and thus, is the rest of the world. Reports say that China is breeding fishes in polluted waters. Healthy fishes are bred with the help of drugs like iodine, vitamins etc. Even the breeders are facing problems as they have to clear tonnes of trash everyday so as to ensure that their business goes on. The fishes are also fed fish meal instead of the normal meal i.e. rice. For breeders, now, this is a common practice.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s fish exports accounts for 22 % of all imports as the fish from them costs cheap. The waterways of China are facing a difficult time too. Waterways are filled with sewage, tainted with pesticides, metals and pollutants. It is all because of the industrial wastes that have been accumulating in the water bodies over the years. The <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Catfish\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">catfish <\/a>farmers especially use medicines unlimitedly. Some of them claim to use only safe and legal drugs, but it is not the case with most of them.<\/p>\n<p>The competitors not only feed medicines to fish but also correct the polluted water with the help of these medicines. Shanghai&#8217;s fish market just last week saw fish that has a greenish tinge due to use of malachite green, a disinfectant powder that was banned but is still in use among the fish breeders. Recently, a city in china known as Wuxi saw many lakes infested with blue green algae that was caused due to the waste dumped into them by nearby factories. In China, chemicals are used not only where needed but also for profit motives such as tricking importers, keeping their products fresh etc. However, fish farmers say that the drugs used by them can not harm people.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, they are using safe Chinese herbal medicines. The claim of safe Chinese medicines is also backed up by the research group of Ministry of Agriculture better known as China Catfish Institute.<\/p>\n<p>However, farmers like Cao Yulin, who is the general manager of the Jiangsu Baolong Group, a company that exports catfish says that the herbal medicines too are not safe. However, as compared to other medicines they are better as there is fewer residues. Some people also have other side of the story to present. As per them, the U.S. fish farmers are opposing Chinese imports because of competition, as the imports of catfish has seen a constant rise. Environmental problems is the main factor that is driving farmers to use chemicals.<\/p>\n<p>Are the Chinese herbal medicines are safe for human consumption or not is just one part of the whole problem. On second thought, we can take China as an example of the ill effects that urbanization sans proper care brings with it.<\/p>\n<p>The world should see China and its millions of problems and try to not get into the same stream or we will know where the world is heading to.
