Factories, reported to have caused water pollution in western Maharashtra, will be treating effluents and using them for irrigation, officials said. Local sugar mills have come up with innovative techniques which will reduce the oil and grease in industry runoffs.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nEverything said and done, all will be well only if these ideas are put into practice. Advanced, experimental technologies require loads of monetary inputs for cleaning up already produced waste or repairing old machinery \u2013 the source of pollution. Considering green technologies in Maharashtra, a state that contributes about 15% to the country\u2019s industrial output, is definitely a no-brainer, although no particular technology has been adopted, or outlined as yet.
