Since this is derived from plants it can be termed renewable. Extracting bio diesel from plants is a two stage process in which plant cellulose is initially converted to sugar and then bacteria is used to ferment this sugar into useful fuel. However, if scientists are to be believed, then a fungus residing in the Patagonian rain forests, dubbed the <strong>Gliocladium Roseum<\/strong>, can convert plant cellulose directly into fuel.<\/p>\n<p>Since, this fungus is not able to convert all the cellulose into fuel, some genetic modifications might have to be made if we want this fungus-generated diesel, in our cars in the near future.
