What is worrying here is that obesity is on the rise. About 46% of men in UK and 32% of women are overweight, and an additional 17% of men and 21% of women are obese. The percentage of adults who are obese has roughly doubled since the mid-1980’s.

The concept

To overcome the problem of obesity, Great Outdoor Gym Company has come up with a solution of designing, supplying and installing great outdoor gyms, called the Street Gym. This is the first that time that an outdoor gym comes with the perfect blend of cardio, tone and chill equipment.
Moreover, it is a treat for your soul. When you exercise outdoors, you can enjoy the beauty of nature.

Why it makes sense?

Outdoor gyms are sure to get a lot of attention. What is the common scenario in parks? You see a few children playing here and there and adults sitting by and watching them. However, with this new concept, adults will also be engaged in physical activities. Since this facility is free, you would not have to think twice before using it. Outdoor gyms make sense for a number of reasons. Some of them being:

<ins class="adsbygoogle"
     style="display:block; text-align:center;"
     data-ad-layout="in-article"
     data-ad-format="fluid"
     data-ad-client="ca-pub-9477973674766713"
     data-ad-slot="8885944693"></ins>

• Promotes use of public spaces and parks

• Low-cost facility with widespread benefits

• Low maintenance and running costs

• Very low carbon footprint

• Promotes inter-generational and family activity

• Demonstrates that positive action is being taken

• Community facility open to all and of benefit to all

• Acts as an advertisement to promote healthier lifestyles

• Excellent form of Eco-therapy

Eco-therapy

Outdoor gyms are a potential solution for solving the problem of obesity, which in turn will reduce global warming. We also know that exercising keeps you fit. This way, the rate of people falling ill and consuming medicines will fall. Little demand for medicine means little production of medicine, which means that our forests will be safer. Also, electricity consumption would be less. How? If people come out to exercise even for an hour, televisions and lights would be switched off back at their home. That would be a tremendous relief on the electricity consumption.

In the end, I would like to make a suggestion. If these gyms could incorporate the technique whereby human movements are used to produce electricity, it would be a like a cherry on the cake. The electricity thus produced could be used to light up the street lamps.

If you do not have a gym in your proximity, then go out and make your own gym. This is how you can make your own gym.

Via: JambleMag

Recent Articles:

Obesity and Global Warming

Obese people are blamed of causing global warming.
