The newly designed wind turbines are big where the diameter of the rotors is that of a football field. In recent years with the development in building wind turbines the size has been increasing. 25 years ago the size of rotors was 18- yard but now it is about 112 yards. This means that wind turbines, which were installed in 2007 of the capacity 1.6 MW is double than that which was installed in 2000 producing 0.76 MW. Constructing big wind turbines helps to produce more megawatts of electricity than the small turbines generally produce.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>The following map shows installed megawatts (MW) for each state of U.S<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"u\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greendiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/u_x95F8_22978.png\" alt=\"u\" \/><\/p>\n<p>U.S the largest installation of wind power, which produce 8,300 MW of electricity, and generating capacity by 50% in a year. According to AWEA and investment bank HSBC, the growth is likely to decline in 2009. Many manufactures have come up with large wind turbines like Siemens, Nordex and Vestas. Building large wind turbines will contribute significantly to save the environment. It will help in reducing green house gas emissions and will also increase energy efficiency. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gepower.com\/prod_serv\/products\/wind_turbines\/en\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">General Electric<\/a> has taken a step to save the planet by installing the largest wind power and is devoted to reduce the green house gas emissions to 1%, which in turn will improve the energy efficiency to 30% by 2012. In addition to this it will replace the old method of producing electricity from coal and diesel.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nWind turbines then and now<\/strong><br \/>\nWind turbines vary in sizes.
