Eco-fanatics, in a way or the other, keep on morphing discarded objects into something useful but, have you ever thought of airplane restitution. Isn\u2019t it worthwhile to lend the dumped air-crafts with some utility even after they\u2019ve stopped ruling the skies? Here, we\u2019ve listed some of such salvages that are sure to inspire you:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1) Boeing 747 Restaurant:<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greendiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/boeing-747_X5Ece_11446.jpg\" alt=\"boeing 747\" title=\"boeing 747\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Better Days:<\/strong> It was the second Boeing 747 ever made and the first one to take a commercial flight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Now:<\/strong> While getting a makeover, the Boeing was reassembled to be used as a restaurant. The cockpit is converted into a seating space and has a bar trinket also. Last operation dates back to the time when Transjet, a bankrupt Swedish airline, was running.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Now:<\/strong> The Jumbo Hostel has 25 rooms, a lounge bar, first class seats and oxygen masks. Taking recycling to newer heights, engine compartments will be replaced by new rooms.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong> Stockholm, Sweden<\/p>\n<p><strong>3) El Avion Restaurant:<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greendiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/el-avion_Z3ZMl_11446.jpg\" alt=\"el avion\" title=\"el avion\" \/><br \/>\nImage Source: Gosleepgo<br \/>\n<strong>Better Days:<\/strong> The hotel is carved out of a US warplane used during the Panamanian war. Perhaps it used to supply ammunition to the Nicaraguan Contras and went down in 1986.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Now:<\/strong> El Avion caters to the upper middle class while specializing in seafood. It has a bar built inside the plane.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong> Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica<\/p>\n<p><strong>4) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-504642\/Bed-Bizarre-Weird-wonderful-hotel-experiences-world.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bristol Freighter<\/a>:<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greendiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/bristol-freighter1_U1LZD_11446.jpg\" alt=\"bristol freighter1\" title=\"bristol freighter1\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Better Days:<\/strong> Before getting recycled as a hotel, it used to be a part of the New Zealand Air force.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Now:<\/strong> Two of its chief parts i.e. cockpit and tail have transformed into grand suites. These suites tout full bathrooms and separate kitchens.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong> Otorohanga, New Zealand<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\n5) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inhabitat.com\/2009\/04\/13\/costa-rican-hotel-suite-takes-flight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Costa Verde Resort<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greendiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/costa-verde-resort_gbTVg_11446.jpg\" alt=\"costa verde resort\" title=\"costa verde resort\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Better Days:<\/strong> The airplane used to transport passengers on South Africa Air and Avianca Airlines.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Now:<\/strong> The hotel is set inside a Boeing 727 of mid 60s. It has a two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite with a kitchen and  a dining room.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong> Quepos, Costa Rica<\/p>\n<p><strong>6) Boeing 737 Dive Reef:<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greendiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/737-dive-reef_MDyYG_11446.jpg\" alt=\"737 dive reef\" title=\"737 dive reef\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Better Days:<\/strong> It was an inseparable member of Air Canada.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Now:<\/strong> The Artificial Reef Society of British Columbia has renovated it and has made a recreational dive site out of it. Since this 30-metre long Air Canada Boeing 737 sunk about a kilometer off the east coast of Vancouver Island, on January 14, 2006.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong> Vancouver, British Columbia<\/p>\n<p>7) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inhabitat.com\/2006\/04\/19\/lo-teks-recycled-airplane-library\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lot-Ek&#8217;s Airplane Library<\/a>:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greendiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/lo-tekaero4_Dpnqj_11446.jpg\" alt=\"lo tekaero4\" title=\"lo tekaero4\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Better Days:<\/strong> The constituents used to be the parts of Boeing 727 and 737 airplanes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Now:<\/strong> Refurbished airplane fuselages wint into the fabrication of this library. Also, the Pavilion is networked with Ethernet connections and has adjustable, integrated projection screens.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong> The plane section overlooks a sloping site at the Lake Union and is located at the University of Washington, Seattle.<\/p>\n<p><strong>10) Boeing 727-200 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airplanehome.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Home Project<\/a>:<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greendiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/fullrightsidesmall_pot8M_11446.jpg\" alt=\"fullrightsidesmall\" title=\"fullrightsidesmall\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Details:<\/strong> Each house in the project included cockpit windows replaced with Lexan, both wings removed and reinstalled at the wing root and the center engine inlet. It further included the upper and lower rudders to give the vertical stabilizer a complete appearance. Landing gear doors in the up and closed position give a streamlined external appearance to the recycled aircrafts. Along with it, the interior includes a center ceiling air conditioning duct and ceiling panels with fluorescent lights.<\/p>\n<p><strong>11) Plainly, a <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/cbbcnews\/hi\/newsid_4930000\/newsid_4931000\/4931094.stm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Plane house<\/a>:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greendiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/plane-house-4_jpr5O_11446.jpg\" alt=\"plane house 4\" title=\"plane house 4\" \/><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Details:<\/strong> This derelict plane is going to be recycled into a house. David Hertz cut it into parts to form various curves. The would-be owner, Francie Rehwahld is optimistic about the project and believes that the house is completed in a year or so.<\/p>\n<p><strong>12) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpaerotours.com\/syria.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Plane Restaurant<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greendiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/7o-acj_b707_gs_FJLHo_11446.jpg\" alt=\"7o acj b707 gs\" title=\"7o acj b707 gs\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Better Days:<\/strong> While on a flight from Libya, this aircraft was attacked by an Iraqi fighter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Now:<\/strong> The restaurant has a large &#8220;dome&#8221; that serves a bar area and a small dance floor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong>  Damascus, Syria<\/p>\n<p><strong>13) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roadsideamerica.com\/tip\/14097\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dine in a Plane<\/a>:<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greendiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/dine-in-a-plane_XGhfO_11446.jpg\" alt=\"dine in a plane\" title=\"dine in a plane\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Better Days:<\/strong> The Boeing KC-97 tanker was used during WW2.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Now:<\/strong> Now, it has been transformed into a 275 seat restaurant where 42 patrons can dine together. It&#8217;s fast-developing into a tourist attraction.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong> Colorado, United States<\/p>\n<p><strong>14) Recycled Airplane Wing Desk<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greendiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/deborah-wing-airplan-desk-1_hhiXS_11446.jpg\" alt=\"deborah wing airplan desk 1\" title=\"deborah wing airplan desk 1\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Details:<\/strong> For those interested, this recycled airplane wing desk at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reestore.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reestore<\/a> costs a huge $5000. It\u2019s an extraordinary example of recycling. Exclusively designed for Theo Paphitis, now it\u2019s available to all.
