It stands out. It\u2019s a hobby. But still, the sales are depleting; it doesn\u2019t matter even if the luxury charm of the car is intact. Now, as per the general reaction all over, the sculptors of one of the world\u2019s most talked-about cars seems to be piggybacking on the green tag to save it from drowning along with the other auto giants.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Green Luxury<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Italian luxury sports <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/environment\/2009\/jun\/11\/lamborghini-murcielago-greenwash\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">carmaker<\/a> has made certain changes by improving their V12 engine combustion &#8211; making the car lighter, introducing &#8220;stop\/start&#8221; systems and reducing friction. By introducing the improved engine it can reach a maximum speed of 350kph, and by 2015, it is likely to cut carbon dioxide emissions by 35%. In addition to this, its main factory at <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sant%27Agata_Bolognese\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sant&#8217;Agata Bolognese<\/a> near Bologna is being equipped with 17,000 square meters of solar panels on the roof, and other measures are being taken to cut the factory emissions by 30%. In the emission test drive, the car emits 495g of CO2 per kilometer, which is three times more than the emissions produced from a typical saloon and five times that from the lowest carbon petrol cars.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nIt is not that Lamborghini is cutting its CO2 emissions, but other luxury cars too are planning to cut their emissions. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/Autos07\/idUSL1913961120071119\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ferrari<\/a> too wanted to cut their CO2 emissions from 400 grams per kilometer per vehicle to 280-300 by 2012.<\/p><div class=\"38520354a5201685ddf480eec688e1a7\" data-index=\"2\" style=\"float: none; margin:10px 0 10px 0; text-align:center;\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\r\n     data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-9477973674766713\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"8885944693\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>CO2 bands for luxury cars<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The luxury cars have been ranked in bands ranging from A to G, with the least polluting cars in band \u201cA\u201d and highest in band \u201cG\u201d emitting 225g\/km of CO2. The sales of band \u201cG\u201d cars are falling. However, new band \u201cH\u201d should be made because many luxury cars emit in between 100g\/km to 450g\/km.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s wrong with the super rich going green?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Globally, less than 1500 Lambos are sold every year and sales are falling. I don\u2019t blame those who take the latest initiative as a plain publicity stunt. No doubt, even if they cut their CO2 emissions to some percent then also they make the world\u2019s most polluting cars. But who cares?<\/p>\n<p>Lamborghini is not for your daily commuting requirements. If you are on the other side, you might wish to bring the whole life to a standstill, killing all reasons creating ripples in the environment. But that\u2019s not possible. Let\u2019s be realistic. A green Lamborghini is definitely better. Every step counts here and the effort is worth a toast.
