It becomes relatively better when a nation intends to fight this menace collectively. Consequently, the US, at New York, celebrates the purpose in continuing the three-years-old tradition of glorifying recycled art. The event, dubbed the <a href=\"https:\/\/figmentnyc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Figment Festival<\/a>, was held at the New York\u2019s Governors Island this weekend, June 12-14.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Project:<\/strong> Stir Up<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"stir up\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greendiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/stir-up_N51hX_11446.jpg\" alt=\"stir up\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Artist:<\/strong> Mollyne Karnofsky<br \/>\n<strong>Details:<\/strong> The kinetic wire sculpture comes with an upward range. It makes use of recycled plastic bottles to form a snake-like creation. I The resulting sculpture goes on to project an exciting blend of individual desires.<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Colonels Row<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Project:<\/strong> Watershed<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"watershed\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greendiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/watershed_NS1Qt_11446.jpg\" alt=\"watershed\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Artist:<\/strong> Disorient \/ MSLK<br \/>\n<strong>Details:<\/strong> &#8220;Watershed&#8221; is a synthetic forest of 1,500 plastic water bottles. &#8220;Watershed&#8221; urges the viewers to shun the habit of buying bottled water. Falling back on tap water is much more sensible.<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Parade Ground<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Project:<\/strong> Secret of 101<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"secret of 101\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greendiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/secret-of-101_aJ6H7_11446.jpg\" alt=\"secret of 101\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Artist:<\/strong> Chin Chih Yang<br \/>\n<strong>Details:<\/strong> Chin Chih Yang\u2019s &#8220;123PollutionSolution&#8221; project transforms thousands of used aluminum cans into a vibrant landscape imitating a varied topography. The sculptural form represents an imaginary outer space village as a safe haven from the polluted Earth. A spherical object slowly deflates and requires help from viewers to re-inject air and re-shape it. It is highly symbolic of our planet and the human activities hell-bent to deform it!<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Building 114 \u2013 Second Floor<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Project:<\/strong> reCYCLE<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"recycle\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greendiary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/recycle_nkcgj_11446.jpg\" alt=\"recycle\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Artist:<\/strong> Katerina Usvitsky<br \/>\n<strong>Details:<\/strong> Katerina retrofits a vintage 1960s bicycle. Netting it through and through with yarn, she aims to announce this art-making technique which has been passed down through many generations \u2014 yet another example of recycling. This work of art is beautiful, simple and aesthetically gripping. To me, it seems, it is the sorry plight of the planet in microcosm.<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Colonels Row<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Project:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nataliegiugni.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guns &amp; Poses<\/a> Rosebush Garden installation<br \/>\n<strong>Artist:<\/strong> Natalie Giugni<br \/>\n<strong>Details:<\/strong> Steel, gun catalogs and fashion magazines recycled to make way for &#8220;Guns &amp; Poses.&#8221; A garden of three large rosebushes calls attention to the fashion photography and firearms based in illusion.
