With the cost of storage mediums still touching the sky, the amount of energy generated by renewable energy systems is not stored completely, and much of it is wasted due to this lack. A European plan is being tested in Denmark, which if successful will increase the storage capacity without increasing the battery bank of the grid.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nEfficient storage of renewable energy:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe solution isn\u2019t ingenious but quite creative \u2013 with the number of electric cars on the roads increasing with every second, their batteries are being put to use to store renewable energy that comes from the island\u2019s wind turbine systems. These turbine systems are capable of generating 40% of the island\u2019s demand but generate just 20% till date due to the lack of storage mediums.<\/p><div class=\"38520354a5201685ddf480eec688e1a7\" data-index=\"2\" style=\"float: none; margin:10px 0 10px 0; text-align:center;\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\r\n     data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-9477973674766713\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"8885944693\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>When a car is parked, its batteries are used to store a definite amount of renewable energy, which cannot be used for traveling purposes. Acting as a buffer, these batteries are connected to the grid once the wind slows down and the wind turbines are not generating any electricity. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/environment\/2009\/jun\/19\/denmark-wind-electric-cars\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid)<\/a> program, as the project has been christened, will allow more turbines to be built and provide up to 50% of the island\u2019s supply without making the grid crash.
