Last year, U.S. wind power generation capacity crossed the 25 GW mark with an addition of over 8 GW from the year before. It was the largest individual increase of any country in the world. The wind energy industry will continue to grow, but the pace of growth will be less as expected prior to 2009. The report foresees that the U.S. installed capacity may reach more than 80 GW by 2015. Funding issues remain there, but the government policies are positive when we talk about the renewable energy targets. Last month only, the Treasury Department gave over $1 billion in cash awards to 27 clean energy companies, especially wind operations.
