Developed by Prof. Yair Ein-Eli, the current green battery prototype has non-polluting silicon energy source that reverts back to sand once depleted. Prof. Yair Ein-Eli hopes that this battery could be used in almost anything, from hearing aids to electric cars. Owing to its small size, the battery can be effectively used in hearing aids and in the near future, it could allow your laptop to run for hundreds of hours on a single charge. It also raises hope for a new kind of battery for electric cars and solar panels. So we are talking about 6,000 hours.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Prof. Ein-Eli is hoping to see the technology to be used in small devices within a couple of years.
