There are numerous items around your home that can be turned into some kind of interesting things. Teach your children how to use such stuff and make useful things. You can keep them occupied for long hours.

Here are 12 fun and easy craft ideas for kids. Let them be at their creative best while you enjoy some moments of peace.

1. Blow art

This is somewhat messy way to keep your little ones occupied. All you need is paint and paper. Take some paint and out it on a paper. Give it to your kid and ask her to blow on it to create unique patterns. If you do not want your room to get messy, it is better to spread some newspaper around the area to prevent the colors from falling on the floor or surface of the table.

2. Making a snow jar

Make a lovely snow jar with your kid. Things you require include an old jar with a lid, glue, paste, glitter, oil paints, small toys and decorative stuff. Glue the small toys and other decorative items on to the lid with the glue and make a beautiful landscape. Use white paint to cover the jar and create a snow background. When the paint dries fill it with water. Add some wallpaper paste and some glitter. Stir well and let it settle. Close the lid and shake the jar well to make a beautiful snow jar.

3. Pasta decorations

Things you need include dried pasta, glue, white vinegar, food color and plastic sandwich bag. Put the dried pasta into a plastic bag and add a few drops of white vinegar and food color. Shake the cover after closing it so that all the pieces get colored well. Put the pieces on a dry paper towel. Use the glue to paste the colored pasta pieces on a paper plate or let your kid string the pieces together to make a beautiful necklace for you.

4. Make a rainbow crayon

You need a lot of crayon pieces for making this one. First gather all the pieces together. Arrange all the pieces into an old muffin tin that is pre-oiled. Pop the tin into the oven so that all the bits melt and form a rainbow crayon. Let it cool down. Your kid will be excited by looking at the new color crayon created by her. For the rest of the day she will be busy drawing pictures with the new found crayon.

5. Colorful carnation

This is an interesting craft where your kid will get to learn something. To make the carnation you need a pair of scissors, white carnation flower, water, two glasses, food colors red and blue. Cut the white carnation stem about half of it lengthwise.
