Thus, toddlers will not need any extra clothing. However, extra care should be taken to protect the child in a proper way. Toddlers should be dressed up in such a way that it makes them comfortable and snug. An energetic toddler is very much active than a baby. So, the cozy snowsuits that kept the toddler warm when she was a baby could not be a right one in this stage. Our toddler’s internal temperature system has enhanced a lot now, so, he/she is not in much danger of overheating. However, check often for signs. If the child is feeling hot, you must remove one layer of outfits.

Tips for dressing up the toddler in winter:

1. Layer up

Always, light layers of clothes are good. Start layering with a long-sleeved shirt or a long-sleeved cotton vest, fleece or sweater, tights or warm lined trousers (if wearing a skirt) and finish with snowsuit or coat. Cotton-knit is good, in case your toddler has a sensitive skin.

2. Cover the head

You know how tricky it is to make a toddler wear a hat in order to keep him warm or protect him from the sun. Since the major fraction of body heat is lost through the head, it is very important to protect the head in winter. Coats with hoods or snowsuits are the best option. Soft wool or fleece, with ear flaps that are in a bright color will help the parents find out the toddler in an active playground.

3. Keep those little hands warm

Toddlers fingers are very often exposed to the cold weather. However, without doubt, parent’s have to deal with those battles, over wearing gloves, with kids. In such circumstances, let the toddler choose his/her own gloves. Gloves that feature the child’s favorite cartoon or storybook character, are the all-time winners. Also, gloves can also get lost easily. Therefore, always buy more than a few pairs in basic colors and match up the odd ones. You may also buy cords or clips to fasten gloves to coat sleeves. When it snows, waterproof gloves are very useful. It is always best to have an additional pair all the time, for fear that a glove gets lost when you are outdoor.

<ins class="adsbygoogle"
     style="display:block; text-align:center;"
     data-ad-layout="in-article"
     data-ad-format="fluid"
     data-ad-client="ca-pub-9477973674766713"
     data-ad-slot="8885944693"></ins>

4. Don’t forget those tiny feet

Keep your toddler’s toes warm with light or thermal wool socks. Your child requires a layer of air between his shoes and his feet to offer added insulation. Buy waterproof boots or shoes, or you better spray them with a water repellent spray which would protect the boots from water marks. Grip soles are always safer, as they stick to the leather. In case, if you do not want to spend evenings on polishing shoes, you can also try patent leather that can be easily cleaned with a wipe. It is better to have a pair of wellies aside during cold winter.

5. Winter night-wears

An all-in-one sleep suit might be the best choice, if your child has the habit of removing his bedclothes at night time. On the other hand, try putting him down to sleep with some cozy bed socks on his feet. Put on slippers with pictures of child’s darling cartoon character. Also, a cozy fleecy robe will sure keep them warm and cozy during bed time.

6. Must-have items

If the weather is very cold, a poncho is useful for wearing over a coat as an additional layer. It is easy to make on your own from a brilliantly colored fleecy blanket. At night, warm fleece is cozy both in the pram and in the car. It is essential to have a plastic rain cover for the pram. It is wonderful to nuzzle in a bulky toweling bathrobe with a hood after your toddler takes a warm shower. So, buy one. Jackets and snowsuits with reflective shimmering patches are useful in gloomy winter evenings. A large size waterproof anorak can be worn over a warm jacket. If you are in the process of potty-training the toddler, then elasticized-waist trousers are easier for a toddler to deal with. Also, if you buy an all-in-one snowsuit, it is good to buy one with a flap at the rear.

Recent Articles:

You have to know that a toddler’s body temperature is the same as that of the adult temperature.
