The 4 Wackiest Spa Treatments In The World

While many of us ladies enjoy a manicure or pedicure here and there, there are some spa goers who will try just about anything to enjoy some extreme TLC and look their absolute best.

And while I may not be tempted to try all of them, they are entertaining to read about. So here are 4 of the most wackiest spa treatments I have ever heard of.

Ramen Baths

Yes, I said ramen. As in ramen noodles! Who would have thought? I mean, I’m all for relaxing in a nice hot bath and letting my troubles wash away but relaxing in a nice hot bath full of ramen noodles? I had never even considered it. Well at Hakone Kowakien Yunessun in Japan you can sit in hot springs baths that look like ramen bowls. Thankfully these bowls don’t actually contain any real noodles, instead they are full of a special imitation concoction that have been touted as a new trendy beauty treatment. The hot springs park doesn’t just stop there. You can also lounge in coffee spas, green tea spas, wine spas, and even a Japanese sake spa! And here you were thinking you could kill two birds with one stone and relax while eating your dinner.

Caviar Facials

Usually caviar is reserved for the wealthy but at certain spas you can be moderately wealthy and still experience a taste of luxury. Now before you get freaked out thinking your face will be covered in tiny fish eggs, relax. Most spas generally use facial treatments that are made from concentrated caviar extracts, and not the actual caviar itself. However, if you are comfortable laying down the big money you can in fact get actual caviar facials which have been said to leave your skin glowing, younger looking, and absolutely radiant thanks to all the beneficial nutrients found in the eggs. So you can rest assured that you won’t leave the spa smelling of fish.

Bird Poop Facials

Yes. You read that right. Nightingale poop is all the rage lately and while it sounds a little, well, smelly, these facial treatments are touted as giving your skin a feeling of deep cleansing, leaving it feeling moisturized, silky smooth, and beautifully radiant. And rest assured, you aren’t getting straight up poop applied to your face. It goes through a special process of being dried, blasted with UV light to sanitize it, crushed into powder, and then combined with other face-friendly ingredients before ever landing on your skin.

Nibbling Fish

This one I had to leave til the last because I have actually done this! I was in Thailand and it is quite popular at many of the spas there. And while it tickles a little, it did leave my feet feeling soft and refreshed. Who would’ve thought? Essentially this treatment is done by sticking your feet in a tub of water where tons of little fish, known as doctor fish, suck the dead and damaged skin off your feet. And it’s not just stopping at feet now. With the rising popularity of this treatment, spa goers are testing the waters so to speak and are getting other body parts treated. It has also been said that this treatment has been extremely beneficial for those who suffer from psoriasis and eczema. Hey, if creams aren’t helping your skin conditions, at least you have another option now. Assuming you don’t mind being a little tickled. And there you have it, 4 of the wackiest spa treatments available around the world. Now I don’t know about you but I have never been more appreciative of my basic mani/pedi treatments until I read about these!
