Once a reputed leader of religious group “Order of St Charbell,” Kamm is now behind bars, and serving a prison term. In 2005, Kamm was given a 5 years imprisonment with a non-parole period of three and a half years for a sexual attack on a 15-years-old girl. However, Kamm claimed that she was one of his mystical wives. In 2007, Kamm was again charged with indecent sexual assault and attack on another 15-year-old girl. Wayne Bent

 Wayne Bent

A prominent leader of the “Lord Our Righteousness Church” or “Strong city,” Wayne Bent is known as Michael Travesser within church. The church believed in modesty of dress and mingled with locals well. The self-proclaimed god, Bent declared that God came in his dream and told him to sleep with seven virgins and since that time, he was convicted for getting physical with minor girls. He was charged for inappropriately touching three minor girls in 2006 and 2007. In year 2008, Bent was convicted of one count of criminal sexual contact of a minor and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Tony Alamo

Alamo and his wife founded a church in California in 1969. Due to the improper ways of evangelization, the church was always in controversy. In 1976, after relocating the church to Alma, Arkansas, Alamo established churches in Nashville, Chicago, Brooklyn and Miami Beach. However, Alamo was arrested many times for different reasons, and in 1994 Alamo was charged with tax evasion. In 2009, Alamo was convicted of ten federal counts of taking minors across state lines for sex and was sentenced 150 years of federal prison. (Source Image)

Swami Premananda

 Swami Premananda of Tiruchirapalli

Originally from Sri Lanka, Swami Premananda founded “Premananda Ashram” in Trichirappalli in Tamil Nadu, India. The ashram was established in year 1989 with intent to provide shelter to women and children who have nowhere to go. In 1994, a statement by Arul Jyothi, a girl who used to live in ashram shocked Swami’s followers. She said that she was raped and was pregnant. Since then Swami was always in controversy for acts that brought shame to humanity. A life imprisonment sentence was imposed on Swami in 1997 for 13 counts of rape, molestation of girls and murder. (Source Image)

Warren Jeffs

Warren Steed Jeffs , former president of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS Church) got noticed when the incidence of his escaping got him on the FBI’S Ten Most Wanted List in 2006. The charge was that he arranged illegal marriages of his adult male followers with underage girls. Later arrested in 2006 in Nevada, Jeffs again faced eight additional counts that included sexual conduct with minors and incest in 2007. On November 2007, Jeffs was given an imprisonment of 10 years and even started serving his sentence, which was later overturned by the Utah Supreme Court in 2010. (Source Image) It’s an irony that there could be no punishment for befooling people who took theses religious leaders as representatives of God and trusted them with their wealth, income, emotions and even loved one’s.]]>
