Healthcare System in India<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Up until 1980’s, the Indian government had a strong influence within the country’s healthcare system. Now, with the emergence of privatization, the Indian medical system has gone through a shift in focus with increasingly strong participation by the private sector. The Government hospitals still provide treatment at taxpayer expense which usually tends to be nominal charges.<\/p>\n

However, the government sector is understaffed and underfinanced; poor services at state-run hospitals force many people to visit private medical practitioners. The private sector, especially those catering to foreign medical patients, offers some of the best healthcare services in the world. In order to provide world-class service most of the private and corporate sector hospitals use high-end technology and specialists for complex treatments like open heart surgery, joint replacements, neurosurgery<\/p>

Quality of Healthcare in India<\/strong><\/p>\n

India witnesses a big disparity between the quality of healthcare seen in the public sector used by locals and the hospital and facilities that cater to medical tourists. These private organizations frequented by affluent patients and medical tourists are highly advanced and provide world-class medical services that staff highly educated and experienced providers.<\/p>\n

The medical tourists can choose from a range of 13 Indian hospitals that have been accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI). Accreditation and compliance with quality expectations are important since they provide tourists with confidence that the services are meeting international standards.<\/p>\n
