Although, the parrot imported from South America, among a consignment of 148 parrots and soft bills, had the H5 strain, the disease-free status of UK is not affected. <br \/>\nDepartment of the Environment, Food and Rural Affair(Defra), has culled all the birds in quarantine and those who were in proximity to those birds are now given antiviral treatment.
