Janet Hemingway, director of the Liverpool school has pointed out that Mr. Gates funds will account for only 10 percent of what is required to fully eradicate malaria, which takes the lives of 2.7 million people every year.<br \/>\nHowever the funds will be helpful in securing significant proportions of insecticides and bed nets, thereby facilitating a diversion of the epidemic from the grassroots level.<br \/>\nAs far as grants for a vaccine is concerned the Liverpool researchers need not worry as Gates said he intends to give away 90 per cent of his fortune, for healthcare.
