Thanks to Ted Turner, whose $20mn grant has proved to be a quantum leap in the vaccination campaign for measles, in Africa. In the queue is the Melinda Gates foundation, which has also funded for the measles vaccine .
\nHowever, the worst part of these campaigns is that the measles is spreading its wings everywhere the African continent despite the celebs funding. It is surprising to notice that the vaccine per dose costs less than $1, but the loopholes in the distribution of the vaccine is continuing to take millions of lives in Africa.
\nMeasles Initiative, led by the Red Cross, is going gaga over this campaign, despite the fact that measles eradication cannot be achieved until Red Cross has done away with polio. It is one disease handicapped by the other, by the efforts of numerous health organizations working in Africa.
