While Europe and South East Asia have banned poultry imports, the Bacolod province in Philippines is going to hold the free-for-all Chicken festival at the public plaza before the commencement of South East Asian Games.<\/p>

At the backdrop of bird flu, this is a bold step taken by the Bacolod province to announce that the Negros fowls are bird flu free, which was in response to a text message that Escalante City in northern Negros is the very first place in the country to be affected by bird flu. Are they sure that their fowls will not be affected by the virus? No , they are prejudiced enough and this prejudice has led them to allocate P10million for taking anti-bird flu measures. God forbid, a thing like bird flu affects this beautiful province. However, as long as the fowls are not affected by flu, they can be teared and seared. Nevertheless, once they are affected, proper precautions have to be taken while slaughtering them for next food festival. It is a myth that flu affected birds cannot be eaten.<\/p>\n
