\nAs the avian flu spread in Egypt, the government decided to vaccinate domestic poultry. There were not enough vaccine and the government faced medical and scientific battle. The human cases shown up primarily in three Delta governates. A 16-year-old girl died in the village, Menufiyya.<\/p>\n

Villagers mostly depend more on poultry than work. They initially hid their birds from inspectors. The government offered to recompense. It was also said that ducks is more dangerous than chickens. It can carry the avian flu virus without appearing sick. But the villagers here insisted their ducks were healthy. They said that we can’t live without poultry.<\/p>

These problems, to undermine stability in vast stretches of poor and rural communities, only contributed to the spread of the disease. The Nile Delta region, the nation’s breadbasket now became an incubator of fear and bird flu. <\/p>\n
