A 20 percent teenager in US inhales common household products. And only some of them know the dangers of this practice. The percentage was high five years ago. Sniffing vapors from stuff like paste, spray paint, nail polish remover and petrol was once an extreme activity. In the mid 90s it had made big news all the way.<\/p>

According to the new findings awareness has waned and abuse is on the rise. A survey took place on more than 7200 teenagers and 1200 parents. 64 percent of teens strongly agreed that huffing can be deadly. And 77 percent strongly agreed that inhalants can damage the brain.<\/p>\n

The survey also finds that only 5 percent of the parents agreed that their child had ever abused an inhalant. But at the same time 20 percent of teens say that they have done it.<\/p>\n
