Brian Sweet, 26, has a rare bone disease Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) since when he was born. The disease causes his bones to become weak and very easily broken. Now he sits on wheelchair because he has broken every bone of his body more than once. <\/p>\n

He actually suffers Type III OI. It is a crueler form of disease. He could walk with assistance until the age of nine only. He gets treatment at Baltimore’s Kennedy Krieger Institute and receives Pamidronate treatments in every three weeks.<\/p>

Dr. Jay Shapiro of Kennedy Krieger says that, about 50,000 people are suffering from OI. We see people with around twelve fractures until the age of 25, but none of them has any idea of this disease. A blue shade in the white parts of eyes can be a symptom of a modest form of OI. People with a mild form of OI may have a bluish shade in the whites of their eyes.<\/p>\n
