The government of Australia has validated the presence of benzene in soft drinks. The officials of Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) say that the levels of benzene in soft drinks are below 10 parts per billion. It poses no health risk.<\/p>\n

According to the government officials, person need to have about 20 liters of soft drink to be equally affected as breathing in city air in a day, which causes same amount of benzene in body. At the same time, government says any quantity of benzene, in food product, is unwelcome. <\/p>

The World Health Organization approves 10 parts per billion benzene in drinking water. The US Environmental Protection Agency has reported 5 parts per billion benzene level in drinking water in U S.
