An American team of biologists is claiming to find out a single vaccine for two major diseases i.e. bird flu and Newcastle disease. <\/p>\n

They inserted a bird flu gene into another vaccine that protects poultry against Newcastle disease. Surprisingly it led to fight against both these viruses within the bird’s body. Peter Palese of department of microbiology, Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, has developed this new vaccine.<\/p>

They exposed poultry to toxic doses of the avian influenza virus and the Newcastle virus birds. Later, they vaccinated the exposed poultry with the vaccine. It produced antibodies against both viruses. Now the team of the researchers is settling with drug companies for mass production and low cost of the vaccines.
