Women with a family history of breast cancer may increase the risk of getting breast cancer if they opt for mammograms. A research has concluded on 1,600 European women with genetic mutations incline to get breast cancer. <\/p>\n

During the research, women who had one chest X-ray had fifty-four percent more risk to develop breast cancer than those who had never the X-ray experience.<\/p>

The Journal of Clinical Oncology has published the report that states women with mutations in BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes should consider magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) instead of X-rays.<\/p>\n

According to the researchers, high doses of ionizing radiation may increase the risk of breast cancer. On the other hand, women over 40 are still advised annual screening with mammograms by the experts.<\/p>\n
