The Ayurvedic medicines and bhasms are selling to the cure the impotency problem for years in India. Now, these drugs are under observation for causing the problems of metal poisoning.<\/p>\n

The leading news channel in India, NDTV has selected some of these drugs. It found after observation that these drugs contain extreme levels of mercury and cadmium. These metals may cause several health hazards. The ‘Bhasm’ is created by heating the medicinal properties at hundreds degrees of temperature.<\/p>\n

MS Valiathan of Manipal University said that the extreme heating of these medicines is necessary to detoxify the metals used in it. The medicinal formulation of Baba Ramdev for virility is said to use heavy metals and parts of the dead bodies of humans and animals. <\/p>

The traditional process of making bhasmas use impure gold ‘bhasm’. The impure gold bhasma can cause harms to health if not consumed properly. It reduces strength, weakens reproductive tissue and may cause even death.<\/p>\n

The Ayurvedic sector in India is much unorganized. So many quacks are moving in the big cities. IIT Kharagpur has started a new project to know the process of formulation of the medicines.
