Ten percent of all the patients admitted to NHS hospitals are accidentally harmed during their stay in the hospitals. About one million safety incidents were confirmed last year including two thousand cases were incurable.<\/p>\n

National Health Service (NHS) is completely unaware about the causalities because of medical error. This makes difficult for the NHS to assess risk or take steps to reduce high-risk incidents.<\/p>

The NHS report disclosed efforts and measures of the government’s National Patient Safety Agency. It was established to encourage the reporting of mistakes by healthcare staff.<\/p>\n

The report says further that it will take almost one year to improve safety in the NHS. The introduction of electronic prescription may be helpful to reduce accidents because of misinterpreting practitioners’ handwritten prescription.
