Who is not scared of the big C? Hardly a day goes by where you don’t read another story about something that influences breast cancer risk. The words: ‘I am sorry, the lump in your breast is malignant’ are some of the most devastating that any woman can expect to hear. Reports say: unfortunately several women would rather not look than risk finding a lump. That’s why it is important to familiarize yourself with your breast.<\/p>\n

Actually, no two breast cancers are the same, so each requires custom made treatment. In 1\/3 of breast cancers, a genetic fault interferes with the body’s ability to destroy abnormal cells and stop them from multiplying.<\/p>

Cancer can also be linked with excessive estrogen or progesterone. It could occur in the milk producing lobule or section of the breast (lobular carcinoma), or in the duct carrying the milk to the nipple (ductal carcinoma). Invasive or infiltrating cancer engulfs nearby tissue. When it spreads beyond the breast it is called metastatic breast cancer.
\nThe cancer also needs to be classified in four stages, from early to advance. Nobody can predict exactly how the disease will progress.<\/p>\n
