Children exposed to radioactive iodine <\/strong>are at higher risk of developing tumor<\/strong> in the thyroid gland or autoimmune thyroiditis<\/strong>, which is a progressive inflammatory disease of the thyroid. a new study has come out with this conclusion. The researchers in US had been studying some children since 1965 and the special thing about these children was that they were exposed to radioactive iodine from nuclear weapons.<\/strong><\/p>

During study, it was found that children who received higher dose of radiation, their chances of developing tumor raised from3.4- fold to 7.5-fold.<\/p>\n

This abovementioned disclosure clearly indicates that how dangerous exposure to radioactive iodine can be.<\/p>\n
