Alcohol<\/strong> is taking heavy toll of lives of Finnish adults<\/strong> with alcohol consumption reaching an all time high.<\/p>\n

According to the data available, about 2,000 people between the ages, 15 and 64 have died just by alcohol poisoning or illness, which was caused by alcohol consumption last year. At the same time, about 1,000 people died in violent accidents, caused by drunk driving.<\/p>\n

Expressing deep concern about the whole drift Kristiina Kuussaari of the National Research and Development Center for Welfare and Health assered, ‘This is truly a worrying trend…the serious negative effects will continue to grow for years to come.”<\/strong><\/p>

Normally, taxes on alcohol are higher, compared to neighboring countries like Russia and Estonia and under the same move Finland had slashed alcohol taxes by more than 40 percent due to the outcry by health officials. And, this lowering in taxes on alcohol has escalated drinking percentage.<\/p>\n

This is really a ghastly revelation about Finland and officials as well as people of Finland will have to think about the whole scenario seriously otherwise this trend may lead to serious consequences.<\/p>\n
