Circumcision<\/strong> can be quite effective in stemming the spread of AIDS virus, since it could reduce the risk of being infected with HIV\/AIDS<\/strong> by 50 percent. The US government has announced this.<\/p>\n

Many studies have been conducted to prove this fact. In the same series, researchers enrolled about 2,784 HIV-negative men in Kisumu, Kenys and about 4,996 HIV-negative men were also enrolled in Rakai, Uganda. Some of these men were circumcised while some were not. After 2 years of study, the results state that whereas in Kenya only 22 circumcised men got infected while the number of uncircumcised men was 47. At the same time, in Uganda where 22 circumcised men were infected while the number of infected uncircumcised men was 43.<\/p>

This clearly proves that circumcision can be an effective way to impede the spread of HIV\/AIDS but to consider circumcision as a panacea to stave off HIV\/AIDS would also not be right because it may just help in keeping away HIV\/AIDS virus and we must take every precaution to eradicate it from the root.<\/p>\n
