Drugs Herceptin and Adriamycin<\/strong> are both used to treat patients with breast cancer<\/strong> but a new study by the researchers has tried to prove that Herceptin is far better in treating breast cancer if compared with drug Adriamycin.<\/p>\n

Another fact that came to light through this study states that using Herceptin alone to treat breast cancer is safer than using it with Adriamycin because researchers believe that using these drugs at the same time may pose a serious threat to heart. Bring out this doubt Dennis Slamon, MD, PhD said, ‘The benefits of Herceptin are significant,’ …but when used with Adriamycin, we may be causing more problems that we are fixing.’<\/p>

In the continuation of this study, researches studied more than 3,200 women with early breast cancer and all these women were HER2 positive and using Herceptin for treat such women come out with wonderful results. Another fact uncovered by this study shows that women who were treated with Herceptin about one-third less likely to suffer a recurrence of breast cancer than those who women who underwent standard therapy of Adriamycin and Cytoxan followed by Taxotere.<\/p>\n

Facts that have been divulged by this study are really quite convincing to establish Herceptin as a better option to treat patients with breast cancer.<\/p>\n
