The Ministry of Health is responsible for the delivery of health services through its government network of 23 hospitals and 350 health centers\/clinics. There has recently been a strong emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention in order to decrease the mortality and morbidity rate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Even though the idea of free healthcare in Jamaica is appealing, the healthcare system has experienced serious issues with long waiting queues. There is a growing private system of healthcare for individuals that are able to pay out-of-pocket (rich citizens and foreign patients).<\/p><div class=\"4a90ee8f0cea4b4c96057cc051b7c66d\" data-index=\"2\" style=\"float: none; margin:10px 0 10px 0; text-align:center;\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/drprem.com\/medical-tourism\/marketing\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/drprem.com\/medical-tourism\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2021\/12\/Medical-Tourism-Post-Ad-2.jpg\"><\/a>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quality of Healthcare in Jamaica<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">There is a large discrepancy in the quality of healthcare in Jamaica in the public and private sector. The private hospitals and centers catering to the potential medical tourists operate at a very high level of quality in order to sustain the foreign paying patients. These upscale hospitals and clinics have all the facilities a quality hospital should have&mdash;experienced physicians, modern equipment and technology and state-of-the-art operating theatres.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Besides this, the quality of healthcare at the wellness centers and spa resorts have excellent quality.
