People might be spending thousands, on luxurious goods and other things; however, when it comes to their oral health they turn a blind eye to this.<\/strong> Confirming this fact a survey reveals that one in 10 people don’t brush their teeth on regular basis,<\/strong> which shows that how badly oral health<\/strong> is being neglected.<\/p>\n

However, what makes findings of this survey more stunning is the fact that numbers of non-brushers has surpassed the last year figure, with the number of non-brushers touching eight times higher mark than before.<\/strong> The British Dental Health Foundation<\/strong> poll of over 1,000 people came up with this disclosure.<\/p>\n

According to this survey:<\/strong><\/p>\n

•<\/strong> Only a third was brushing for the full two minutes – as recommended.<\/p>\n

•<\/strong> 12% only brushed a few times a week or never, which this figure stood at 1.5% last year.<\/p>\n

•<\/strong> One in five said they could not remember when they last changed their toothbrush.<\/p>

•<\/strong> Many people were using bizarre objects for flossing, that includes use or drill bits, shoelaces and twigs.<\/p>\n

It is quite surprising to know that people are using quite unhealthy and unscientific methods for flossing and quite strangely paying quite less heed to the importance to regular brushing, despite the fact that regular brushing plays a significant role in combating gum diseases, which has been found presaging pancreatic cancer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Therefore, people should understand the importance of regular brushing because it not only combats gum diseases but also cuts down heart risk<\/strong>,
\nwhile gum disease has been linked to heart disease<\/strong><\/a>. In addition, it should be kept in mind that no doubt, oral health has been improving fast; however, if this unhealthy trend goes on like this then we can’t deny that improvement noted in the sphere of oral health might take a U-turn.<\/p>\n
