According to a latest finding, the bacteria C. difficile can now be removed completely by just washing the contaminated areas with any kind of soap and water, which is otherwise, very harmful for health and is usually hidden in and around hospital areas. <\/p>\n

The researchers says that use of soap & water emerged out quite effective in comparision to alcoholic solution & also disinfectant towel usage in getting rid off this bacterium.<\/p>\n

During the study the scientists examined — 5 cleaning protocols for the infected site. In this study the hands of the ten participanting subjects were made infected with the bacterium — C. difficile<\/a>. They cleaned their hands properly by using —<\/p>\n

1.<\/strong> Any general soap & hot or cold water<\/p>\n

2.<\/strong> Any antiseptic soap & hot water<\/p>\n

3.<\/strong> An alcoholic solution<\/p>

4.<\/strong> By a disinfectant towel<\/p>\n

The study says that — cleaning hands with water removed nearly 98% of bacterium from the infected portion while cleaning with an alcoholic solution removed not even a single percent of the existing ones.<\/p>\n

The participants of the study who cleaned their hands by using disinfectant towel removed nearly 95% of bacteria from infected area.<\/p>\n

The bacterium — C. difficile forms spores which have great power of resistance & it can also yeild new ones on the availibiltiy of suitable envoirment required for its growth.<\/p>\n

The alcoholic solution removes the bacteria but cann’t expel the spores, while the mechanical activity of cleaning gets united together with the chemical activity of soap and it removes both the bacteria as well as the spores from the infected site.<\/p>\n

The scientists suggested that you should go for cleaning by the use of any type of soap & water whenever you have any doubt of getting infected with C. difficile.<\/p>\n

These latest findings were submitted at the 47th Interscience Conference that took place in Chicago on the subject of — Antimicrobial Agents & Chemotherapy.<\/p>\n
