Beware guys who use — Viagra or other similar types of drugs because it’s going to make you deaf. Its not joke, I am serious; FDA has asked the pharmaceutical companies to mention this fresh warning on the label of their drugs that consumers may have to face sudden problem in hearing or they can completely lose their hearing power. So, now onwards Viagra & several other impotence medicines will have to carry this warning.<\/p>\n

However, it is unclear that these medicines actually activate hearing loss, but the FDA (Food & Drug Administration) has taken this step to put — a fresh warning because of this expected danger and also after taking in to consideration all those 29 reports<\/strong> of the trouble since – the year 1996 among the consumers of this type of drugs.<\/p>\n

The various impotence medicines like — Viagra, Levitra & Cialis will carry this information in form of warnings. But a question arises at this point that whether Revatio (a medicine used in case of pulmonary hypertension) which have similar component like Viagra will bear the same warnings or not.<\/p>

Viagra’ has been using this warning on its label which states that– hearing loss as a possibility<\/em>, as a number of few cases came in to notice during the early trial of that medicine. But it was specified that hearing loss can mainly occur in aged people & also in those who have various diseases like — diabetes & heart problems, which can result in causing impotence, it was not very clear that whether this link was true or not. This point is yet not clear.<\/p>\n

While looking at those records of expected drug effects — Food and Drug Administrations’ found that the problem of hearing loss developed with in hours to 2 days of consumption of one of these medicines.<\/p>\n

In a prepared statement, Dr. Robert Boucher, an ENT (ear nose & throat) specialist of Food & Drug Administration said,<\/p>\n

We don’t know enough to say that it’s ironclad caused by the drugs, but we see enough to say we can’t ignore it either.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

According to the reports — the hearing loss occurred in one ear of the users and every third case of hearing loss was for short-period of time<\/p>\n

FDA suggested that if you feel, there is some problem in listening or there is buzzing in your ear, than quickly make a visit to your doctor and discontinue the consumption of those medicines!<\/p>\n
