Do you know, up to 7.5 percent of school-aged children are generally affected with Attention-Deficit Disorder (ADD)? And to add to the crisis, the parents of 7 percent of children 6-11 years of age are being told by a doctor of their child having the disorder! This has been revealed by a new report of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.<\/p>

But, in an effort to relieve these 3 percent – 5 percent<\/a> of the population suffering from the disorder, researchers in the Queensland University of Technology are up with arms to find if daily doses<\/a> of ‘fish oil’ can help these children – and if it could be used in place of stimulant drugs like Ritalin.

\nIt has been found that omega-three fatty acids present in fish oil help children concentrate as well as learn and the researchers are concentrating on the amount on the fish oil dose that would be effective in treating children with ADD.<\/p>\n

Neuropsychologist Jacque Boon said,<\/p>\n

We’re looking for children aged between seven to 12 years who have been diagnosed with attention deficit disorder and they have all those problems of hyperactivity, impulsivity and inattention, alongside learning difficulties such as reading and writing.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Hope the omega three would soon be an effective answer to a child’s not just brain development but also treat them of ADD, casting out the stimulant drugs.<\/strong><\/p>\n
