Nutritional food consumed during women’s menstruation cycle reduces the risk of various infections and allergies according to Germany’s Munich-based association of gynaecologists.
Women are more likely to be prone to colds and allergies as their body defenses during this period are weakened and therefore are advised to consume food rich in vitamins and nutrients. It is also important for them to avoid stress related activities which could cause attack of migraine headaches.
The concentration of estrogen in the blood is low when the cycle starts, and the lower the estrogen level, the more sensitive regions of the brain are to painful reactions
says Christian Albring, president of the association.
According to an article in PCRM, the amount of estrogen in your blood is constantly being readjusted. While some foods push hormone levels up others bring them down.
Fat drives estrogen levels up. The more of it there is in your diet, the more estrogen your body makes. If the amount of fat in your diet is reduced, the amount of estrogen will be also come down.
By avoiding animal products and added oils, you reduce estrogen production. And by replacing chicken, skim milk, and other fiberless foods with grains, beans, and vegetables, you will increase estrogen elimination.
Eating vitamin rich food, avoiding estrogen increasing foods and relaxing during this period should help you sail through the painful times.
