Painkillers increase the chance of heart failure by 30 %

A new research reveals that the regular use of popular painkillers increases the risk of heart failure by 30 percent. The new research has been recently published in the online version of the British Medical Journal.

The research further concluded that there is a bigger threat of cardiovascular complications attached with all the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The researchers found out that the NSAIDs not merely intensify symptoms of heart failure among patients having a history of cardiovascular disease but increase the chances the risk of heart failure hospitalization in patients even in the absence of history of clinical heart failure.

Moreover, researcher had considered several factors that possibly increase the risk of heart failure such as obesity, smoking and a history of heart disease.
